Wisconsin Right to Life’s Response to Planned Parenthood’s New President

“As Planned Parenthood’s new president, Dr. Leana Wen, makes her debut it is abundantly clear that the work of Wisconsin Right to Life and other pro-life advocates is going to be harder than ever,” said Heather Weininger, Executive Director of Wisconsin Right to Life.

“In announcing Dr. Wen, Planned Parenthood has indicated that their primary goal is to make abortion mainstream health care. Dr. Wen is an emergency room physician. How can a doctor who is supposed to protect and save lives consider abortion, a violent act that brutally kills an unborn child, mainstream health care?

“Planned Parenthood has chosen a doctor to run their organization so they can legitimize the fact that they are the nation’s largest abortion provider. They consider abortion, under the euphemism of ‘health care’, a basic human right. At Wisconsin Right to Life, we know that life is the most basic human right. We will continue working to ensure the most vulnerable members of our society are protected from extremist abortion advocates like Planned Parenthood.”
